“I feel I have learned so much, and that this experience has somehow changed me. I have had the desire to help the community in Greenland and the Arctic much more because I realize now that this place is so unique. It is as if I have been blind because of all the negative things, such as what the alcohol can do to people. But instead of ignoring it or being mad at it, I just want to help those affected by the negative. It is so amazing and exciting to see Greenland from a completely different perspective. It has made me so proud to be an Inuk.”
– Maria Suersaq, WWF scholarship recipient on the 2013 SOI Arctic Expedition
