Thomas Piekut

Thomas Piekut

Thomas is a meticulous and inquisitive sixteen year old who has numerous passions including a profound interest in classical music, which he continues to further by playing the violin.  He has recently completely his RCM exams and will soon join the Mississauga Symphony Youth Orchestra.  Thomas has always maintained a large interest in the sciences and regularly participates at his school’s physics club and trivia team.  He hopes to pursue a career in the medical field and has notably been inspired by the emerging study of nanotechnology.  Furthermore, Thomas has spent countless hours volunteering at his neighborhood library and is a strong advocate of the need to educate the youth demographic in terms of environmental responsibility.

On a more personal note, Thomas loves photography and travel and is thrilled at the opportunity to explore the world’s Arctic Regions with SOI.  He believes that the experience will not only be enriching academically, but likewise a great way to meet incredible new individuals and appreciate the subtle beauty of the Great North.
