Even though Teddy lives in the city of San Francisco, he loves spending time outdoors-especially skiing and hiking. He volunteers at a city museum that houses local animals which, for various reasons, cannot survive in the wild (such as an owl that was born blind because DDT made the egg shells too thin). This experience has increased his interest in understanding more about how mankind can help animals survive in a changing environment. Therefore, Teddy is especially excited about seeing and learning more about Arctic animals. For fun, he also plays goalie on his high school lacrosse team and started a mini-golf club this year to give classmates a break from studying. In college, Teddy plans on working to further the understanding of animal habits, habitats and how best to preserve them.
