McKay Larmer was born and raised in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. He is an Ontario Scholar and a recent grade 12 graduate. McKay lives on Trout Lake in the Township of East Ferris along the historical trade route of the Coureurs de Bois. He loves the outdoors and enjoys sustainable hunting and fishing.
McKay’s interests are diverse. In high school he competed in robotics, football and concert band. McKay is an avid reader of historical non-fiction and is actively involved in politics, including sitting on his Member of Parliament’s Constituency Youth Council. He admits that he watches a bit too much CNN.
McKay is looking forward to this opportunity to explore the Arctic with the Student On Ice Expedition Team.
