Lailah A. Wilson is a rising senior at Watkins Overton High School, high school for the performing arts, in Memphis, Tennessee. She is an accomplished violist and singer. She has studied the viola for almost eight years. She was recognized as one of the best middle school and high school violist in the West Tennessee Region and she participated in the West Tennessee Band and Orchestra Association’s Convention for four years. She auditioned and was chosen to participate in the Memphis Youth Symphony for four years. Her music is a passion. She uses her music to assist at her summer job working with youth at an arts organization in a distressed area of her hometown. Lailah has also volunteered with her mother doing work in community and economic development her entire life. She is versed at being a strong advocate for issues and serving the needs of vulnerable populations.
