Dre Toney

Dre Toney

My name is Dre Toney and I am from Eskasoni. I live in the land of Mi’kamaki on the beautiful Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. I am a proud Mi’kmaq speaker and community member. I have had the privilege of attending a Mi’kmaq Immersion School and have a positive sense of identity and culture. I have always enjoyed exploring outdoors and the beautiful world. I have a real soft spot for animals who are so innocent. I see the need for humanity to care for all animals and of course return them to their habitats when possible. I look forward to this Arctic Expedition and the adventure that is before me. My experience with Students On Ice will help to shape me into the man that I want to become. I want to do what makes me happy and discover my future interests and possible career path. I really strive to work in a job that has meaning in my life and in the world around me. This Arctic Expedition will allow me to learn more about myself and how I can contribute all living things on Mother Earth.
