David Macintyre

David Macintyre

David, a 15 year old from Chelsea, Quebec, is in one word, “enthusiastic”. As a
student, David is a member of football, rugby and wrestling teams, was awarded the title of school “Drama King” for his participation in the his school’s theatre production, and is a member of student council. This past year David also represented his school at the national “Poetry in Voices” competition in Vancouver.
Outside of school, David loves to read and has a deep interest in history and politics. When David was 7 years old he had an opportunity to travel to France as part of the Canadian Delegation for the Rededication Ceremony of the Vimy Memorial and now works at engaging local youth in the political process with a local political candidate. David also participates in the Leadership in Training Program at Camp Trillium (a camp for children with cancer and their families), and hopes to work as a summer counsellor in the future. As for a career, David hopes to study either military or international law. During the expedition David is looking forward to learning about political and economic impacts on climate change, exploring the history of Inuit culture, and having an amazing time!
