My name is Brady Reid and I am a 23 year old Newfoundlander who grew up exploring The Rock and who is now dedicated to exploring the rest of the world! Whether experiencing something opposite to what I am accustomed to or challenging my own views immersed in a new culture, my curiosity for the world is persistent. This past September, I began a master’s program in environmental policy. From a local level, I am excited to take my classroom knowledge to the field and make connections between theory and reality. Being able to participate on the Students on Ice Expedition is an unbelievable opportunity to experience first-hand the challenges that face the communities who thrive in the north. Through recognizing our privilege and critical reflection on the expedition, I hope to learn how people in the South can illicit meaningful, decolonized change in partnership with those in the north.
