Canada C3 Documentary Screening: Edmonton

Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society invites you to our 3rd Annual International Museum Day Lecture featuring Geoff Green, Executive Director of Students on Ice, and expedition leader of the Canada C3 Expedition, and Dr. Mark Edwards, RAM Curator of Mammalogy.

Canada C3 was a signature project for Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation in 2017. The epic 150-day sailing journey from Toronto to Victoria traversed the Northwest Passage exploring the environment, meeting coastal communities, and connecting Canadians from coast, to coast, to coast. Focused on themes of diversity and inclusion, reconciliation, youth engagement, and the environment, it include a diverse group of remarkable Canadians on board, including educators, artists, Indigenous Elders, historians, community leaders, youth, journalists and scientists. Dr. Edwards was one of those scientists on the longest leg of the voyage studying Arctic bears.

Come join us as we discuss the voyage and how these themes connect to how we discuss Canada’s natural and human histories, and for the Alberta premier of the documentary capturing the C3 Expedition.
