Shakti Ramkumar

Shakti is completing her undergraduate degree in Geography at the University of British Columbia, with an Environment and Sustainability concentration. She cares about climate action that recognizes the urgency of climate change and the intersection of social justice, politics and technology. As a Project Coordinator for Student Energy, she is passionate about empowering youth to lead the sustainable energy transition. She has previously served as the co-Director for Common Energy, UBC’s largest student-led sustainability group, and has worked together with teams of students to advocate for bold climate action on campus through the UBC Sustainability Collective.

As an Antarctic 2014 alum, Shakti is incredibly excited to work together with fellow Students On Ice alumni in the inaugural Climate Action Cohort to dive deep on justice-centered climate policy and implement creative community projects. In her free time, you can find hanging out at cafes with a good book, cooking experimental vegan meals, or taking short walks on the beach
