Miranda Atatahak can be described as a change maker in her community of Kugluktuk, Nunavut.  She is a life long advocate of education.  A graduate from the Kugluktuk High School, graduate from the Nunavut Sivuniksavut Training Program and completed three years in the Bachelor of Arts program at the University of Alberta.  Miranda is now a certified Career Development Practitioner with ten years of experience and is currently working for the Government of Nunavut.

Miranda has a lengthy history of community leadership and volunteerism, sitting on several boards and local groups. Annually, she gives her time to organize the spring festival and Christmas activities contributing to the wellness and betterment of her community. Miranda is notable for her role in the Kugluktuk Grizzlies which has since been made in to the feature film ‘The Grizzlies.’

In Miranda’s spare time she can be found enjoying the outdoors. From fishing to berry picking, hunting and harvesting, Miranda’s love for the environment and for her community is fitting for her role with Students on Ice.
