Marina Melanidis

Marina Melanidis is a climate actor and youth mobilizer from Vancouver, B.C.  She co-founded and co-directs Climate Guides, a youth-led non-profit that creates and supports opportunities for youth to engage in climate action in their communities.

Outside of youth engagement, Marina is interested in how to pursue climate action while also conserving biodiversity. She has worked on conservation and climate change at home with the provincial and federal government, abroad as a research exchange fellow in India, and with the United Nations as an intern with the UN Environment Programme. She will be studying the application and potential of nature-based solutions as an MSc candidate at UBC in the fall.

Marina has a BSc in Natural Resources Conservation, is a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholar, and was a member of the BCCIC Youth Delegation to COP 24. She loves 70’s rock, good vegan food, and the BC coast.
