Davonna Kasook

My name is Davonna Kasook and I am a 23 year old Inuvialuit woman from Inuvik, NT. I currently work full-time at the Inuvialuit Joint Secretariat in Inuvik as one of the Resource Management Coordinators for the Inuvialuit Game Council. I am a recent graduate of the Environment and Natural Resources Technology Program (ENRTP), of which I graduated with honours. My passion and interest in learning about the environment began during my first SOI Arctic Expedition in 2014. Since then, I have pursued post-secondary education in the environmental science field and have obtained a ENRTP diploma which has directed me on my current career path of working for my people (Inuvialuit) to assist in the management of wildlife and their habitats within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. I was interested in being apart of the CAC because I have a burning desire to learn, especially about the changes happening in my region regarding climate and I want to use my current skills and knowledge, as well as expand on them, so that I can work towards developing initiatives that will have a positive and lasting impact on my community and my region.
