Bridget is an alumna of the 2011 Arctic Expedition and currently lives in Halifax/K’jipuktuk, Mi’kmaq Territory. She has remained involved with SOI by participating in the Students on Ice Alumni Delegation to the RIO +20 Earth Summit, and she also worked as the Expedition Intern for the Arctic 2014 Expedition. Bridget completed both her undergraduate (Bachelor of Arts in Environment, Sustainability & Society and Canadian Studies) and graduate (Master of Arts in Canadian History) degrees at Dalhousie University. Bridget now works as the Administrator at MEOPAR. She is a certified Abortion Doula with Abortion Support Services Atlantic, and is currently certifying as a Labour and Birth and Postpartum Doula with Doula Training Canada.
Bridget’s expedition experience led her to her passion of history and storytelling. Bridget is currently undertaking a new role on the SOI Alumni Council as an Advisor, having served on the inaugural Alumni Council for the past two years. Bridget’s preferred pronouns are she/her.
