Founded in a small warehouse in Toronto, Canada, over fifty years ago, Canada Goose has since grown to be recognized internationally as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of extreme weather outerwear.
Since 2011, Canada Goose has generously provided expedition gear for students and staff on SOI expeditions to both the Arctic and Antarctic and have helped to make SOI’s life-changing educational expeditions to the Polar Regions possible through its ongoing support for the SOI Foundation.
Beyond expeditions, Canada Goose supports SOI’s polar outreach projects including SOI’s research sailboat Arctic Tern I and most recently SOI’s “Q is for Qajaq“, a renaissance initiative to educate and inspire youth in the art of traditional Inuit qajaq (kayak) building and paddling in Canada’s Arctic.
“The beauty and power of the Arctic is best discovered first-hand and we’re proud to support Students On Ice and the unforgettable experiences they deliver. Programs such as Arctic Tern I and Q is for Qajaq mix the thrill of adventure with environmental research, education and outreach. Without a doubt, Geoff and his team have created a new and much-needed generation of explorers, champions and defenders of our polar regions.”
