Elise Pullar

Alumni Program Coordinator

Elise Pullar

Elise will never forget the sound of calving glaciers, the beating of the drum or the puff of the humpbacks’ breath while on the 2016 SOI Arctic Expedition. She participated as a member of the Parks Canada Northern Engagement Team, facilitating workshops about turning your passion into action! She is so excited to be a part of the SOI team as Alumni Program Coordinator.

Elise holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation Biology and Environmental Studies. She is fascinated by animal behaviour and loves watching wildlife for hours on her travels near and far. There is so much to learn about sustainability by looking at the way other animals live. As an educator and guide, she has been working to connect people to nature and each other in meaningful ways. She has also facilitated sessions at the Canadian Parks Conference, Our Poles Our Planet Conference and the IUCN World Conservation Congress (where she got to meet her idol, Jane Goodall!).

What keeps Elise going is her optimism about the future. She envisions a world where marine and land-based protected areas are extensive, biodiversity is on the rise and a circular economy is in full swing. She dreams of a place where all people have access to clean drinking water, nourishing food, a connection to the land and a sense of belonging.

Elise lives in Squamish, BC, where she loves to trail run, climb and ski in her free time.
