Keenan (Nooks) Lindell

Nooks Lindell is an Inuk artist from Arviat, Nunavut. Nooks currently works as the Kivalliq Wildlife Technician for the Government of Nunavut. He is also one of the founders of Hinaani Design, a company that seeks to promote Nunavut and Inuit culture through various modern design projects. Nooks is co-owner and head of design and marketing for Hinaani. He is actively regaining fluency of his first language, Inuktitut, through family, friends, and art. Nooks also creates Inuit traditional tools such as the ulu, pana, qilaut (drum), and is learning to sew with qihik (sealskin). Nooks has worked in digital media for many years as a creative producer (writer/editor/director/actor) for the Inuktitut TV series Qanurli? and did camera work for the documentary Arctic Greenhouse. Nooks has a strong background in Inuit culture and arctic environment through his family, work, and his education; Nunavut Sivuniksavut and Environmental Technology.
