UPDATE by phone (posted 11:10 am ET) GEOFF
Good morning everyone!
After a great final expedition day - we arrived safe and sound in beautiful Quebec City early last evening.
Saying so long to SEDNA and her crew was very emotional for all of us ... as we watched her cast off and sail away back to her home port in the Magdalene Islands.
After completing the challenge of re-packing the van we headed off to Quebec City - where we had a wonderful evening together ... we walked around the old city, visited the historic Chateau Frontenac, went shopping and then had a great dinner at a lovely Quebec City restaurant.
We were also joined by Claudie Oulette, from One-Tonne Challenge. We had a most interesting conversation about the impact of the expedition as well as about the various initiatives the students are contemplating implementing back in their own homes, schools, communities.
A late night back at the hotel ... good sleeps and a morning of more goodbyes - as we saw Lauren, Heather and Jeff off to the airport and Alexis off by bus. Alex and Carol head out by plane this afternoon.
The rest of us are now leaving Quebec City --- hoping to arrive back in Ottawa by 4:00 pm or so this afternoon. (We’ll call with that confirmation for our Ottawa parents etc.)
So - stay tuned and continue to follow our Students on Ice website(s) as we follow up with our graduates and their projects over the coming months.
