Wednesday, August 18 Quebec City, Canada.
JOURNAL ENTRY (by phone 4:45 pm ET) Weather good, some cloud, warm Hello fellow expeditioners!
We have arrived safe and sound for our rendez-vous in Quebec city and have now set out on the next part of our journey (by bus) to the Mingan Islands.
This is about a 14-hour drive, so we'll stop tonight to camp along the shore of the St. Lawrence River at Le Paradis Marin aux Escoumins.
We hope to catch a glimspe of our first whales either when we cross the Saguenay River along route or perhaps even from our campsite tonight!

Yes, you can actually see and hear whales from the tents at this scenic campsite!
We will be making one educational stop en route this evening - at a whale museum .. and then tonight, after we arrive (8:00 pm ish) we will have an introductory expedition briefing and dinner, before getting some well-deserved rest.
(Geoff will aslo work on the FTP computer protocols for his end of things from his tent - where he hopes to begin sending us some images and journal updates!! So stay tuned and join us first thing tomorrow to find out how the expedition’s first evening went.) |
And, for our ARMCHAIR EXPLORERS ...
