Students on Ice Office Moves!

Students on Ice has officially moved its office! With two new additions to our team (Reina Lahtinen, our new Participant & Outreach Coordinator; and David Matyas as our IPY Coordinator) – we have outgrown our old digs, and it was time for a move.

We are now located in the beautiful Natural History Building in Gatineau, Quebec. The Natural Heritage Building is also home to the Canadian Museum of Nature’s science and administration centre. The building is situated on 73 hectares of beautiful land, and it provides a home for hundreds of researchers, scientists, administrators as well as one of Canada’s largest natural history collections. It is an incredible place!

The Canadian Museum of Nature has been one of our organization’s most valued partners since SOI was founded in 2000. Many CMN scientists and researchers have participated in our expeditions, and every summer we kick-off our Arctic expedition at the museum.

Together, we are also launching several exciting IPY related projects and activities!

We are thrilled to be here at the Natural Heritage Building, and thank the CMN for welcoming us!
