STUDENTS ON ICE is an award-winning organization offering unique educational expeditions to the Antarctic and the Arctic. Our mandate is to provide students, educators and scientists from around the world with inspiring educational opportunities at the ends of the Earth and, in doing so, help them foster a new understanding and respect for the planet.

Your donation helps make scholarships available to support the participation of students on our transformative educational expeditions. Thanks to the generous support of donors and partners, over 2000 students from more than 50 countries have participated on Students on Ice expeditions. .



There is no deadline for general applications for our expeditions. General applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but we encourage applicants to submit their forms as soon as possible to ensure that spots are still available on expedition. General applications are accepted from students from any country in the world.


Scholarship applications have deadlines and specific selection criteria associated with them. Please see below for deadlines and additional information for each scholarship that is offered.

Applications are open! Please confirm the deadline of the scholarship you are eligible for by reading the specific scholarship information forms below. Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications we receive, we cannot confirm receipt of your specific submission.



Beatrice Snyder Foundation Scholarships - Deadline is 5pm EST September 15, 2014.

For American students from the five buroughs of New York City who are currently enrolled in high school.



Leacross Foundation Scholarships - Deadline is 5pm EST September 15, 2014.

For young women from across Canada who are currently enrolled in high school.
