Our mandate is to provide students, educators and scientists from around the world with inspiring educational opportunities at the ends of the Earth and, in doing so, help them foster a new understanding and respect for the planet.

Your donation helps make scholarships available to support the participation of students on our transformative educational expeditions. Thanks to the generous support of donors and partners, over 2000 students from more than 50 countries have participated on Students on Ice expeditions. .

APPLICATION FORMS

There is no deadline for general applications for our expeditions. While we accept applications on a rolling basis, we encourage applicants to submit their forms as soon as possible to ensure your spot. We accept applications from students from any country in the world.

Please note that if you are eligible for a scholarship, you only need to fill out and submit the Scholarship Application Form(s) below (and any supplementary questions, if applicable), and not the General Student Application Form. You have the option to also submit a deposit to hold your spot on the expedition if you are not selected to receive a scholarship. Scholarship applications for the Arctic 2013 Expedition are due at 5pm EST on March 15, 2013. The Leacross Scholarship Application for the Antarctic 2013 Expedition is due at 5pm on May 1, 2013.

Arctic 2013 Scholarship Application Form
Thanks to our many generous sponsors and partners, scholarships are available for students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to take part in an experience like this. These scholarships cover all of the expedtion costs for students to participate. Applicants must demonstrate that they want to participate for the right reasons. This is not a vacation experience. It is a learning journey that requires time, energy, passion and interest, before, during and after the expedition. Scholarships are available for Canadian high school students between the ages of 14-18, from coast to coast to coast. Please read the selection critieria to determine if you are eligible for this opportunity. Scholarship applications are due at 5pm EST on March 15, 2013.
   

Royal Norweigan Embassy in Ottawa

This scholarship is available for Norwegian citizens between 16-18 years old and currently attending high school (or home-schooling). Applications are due April 15th, 2013 at 5pm EST.

A number of our partners have supplementary questions that they would like applicants to answer. If you are eligible for these scholarships (please check the individual eligibility criteria), submit your answers to the supplementary questions in the forms below along with the Arctic 2013 Scholarship Application form (above).
 
   

Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami
This scholarship is available for Inuit students, between the ages of 14-19 from across Canada.

Leacross Foundation
This scholarship is available for female, Canadian citizens/Permanent residents between 14-18 years old who are currently attending high-school or home-schooling.

Yukon Territory
This scholarship is available for First Nations, Metis or Inuit high school students between the ages of 14 -18 from the Yukon.

Makivik Corporation
This scholarship is available for Inuit students between the ages of 14 -19 from Nunavik.

Beatrice Snyder Foundation
This scholarship is available for American Citizens between 14-18 years old who are currently attending a Rhode Island high school. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a need for financial assistance.

Antarctic 2013 Leacross Scholarship Application
Thanks to the generous support of the R. Bern/Leacross Foundation, Students on Ice is thrilled to once again be offering 5 scholarships for young, Canadian women to participate on our 2013-2014 Antarctic Expedition. These scholarships are available for female high-school students between the ages of 14-18 who would not otherwise have the opportunity to take part in an experience like this. Please read the selection critieria to determine if you are eligible for this opportunity. Applications are due May 1, 2013.
