Global Youth Leaders Expedition to Antarctica

1 ship.
50 youth.
40 global experts and leaders.
Millions inspired.
Global action initiated.

February-March 2021

CLIMATE CHANGE.  OCEAN HEALTH.  INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION.

These are the three pressing issues around which we’ve built an ambitious, globally-minded youth expedition to Antarctica. The expedition and its participants will raise awareness and inspire action on all three.

In 2021, Students on Ice (SOI) will bring together a group of 50 youth for a journey that will build global understanding, collaboration and action. The expedition will be inclusive of youth from all over the world. Participants will join not only a three-week expedition, but a year-long communications campaign aimed at amplifying the message and inspiring action. We will use traditional and social media as well as partner, media and educator networks to reach more than 100 million people globally with maximum possible impact.

The newly formed network of global youth leaders will lead by example. They will collaborate to share their experiences, insights and messages, and will develop local, national and international initiatives that promote international collaboration on sustainable development.

The goal is to reach the world with a clear message about the vital importance of international collaboration to sustainability. And most of all, to inspire politicians, business leaders, influencers, other youth, and everyone in between to take concrete action. Now.
