Afternoon flight from Iqaluit to the Inuit community of Pond Inlet on the north shore of Baffin Island. Visit village and prepare for departure out to the Floe Edge the next day.

June 19/04 - Morning departure from Pond Inlet by snowmobile and Komatik on the ice! Travel across the sea-ice to the Floe Edge. It is never a direct journey as we have to dodge around the open leads in the ice. Set up camp!

Our campsite will be the most sustainable possible, because a few weeks after we leave, it will have melted and disappeared!

© Polar Sea AdventuresJune 20-24 - The next 5 days at our base-camp will be filled with exploring the floe-edge, kayaking, hiking, wildlife sightings, education program activities, learning traditional skills, science activities, learning about Inuit culture, camping and expedition skills, and much more. There will be surprises like Polar Bears strolling into the camp or whales surfacing and blowing near the Floe Edge. We may encounter some Inuit hunters out looking for seals. Everyday will be filled with adventure and learning!

June 25/04 - Pack up and return to Pond Inlet. Evening Barbeque with local Inuit students and elders, sharing of stories. Games and Celebrations.

June 26/04 - Return flights to Ottawa
