Eight of us will be staying over in Toronto and catching our final flights home tomorrow. -----------------------------------
Fred Roots – a quick hello – expressing the wonder of the trip --- how exciting it was to be a part of the Orca Hunting and Russian Ship rescue. Grateful for the time spent learning along and teaching with such an amazing group of students and educators. Every trip is unique and this one was incredibly exciting.
---------------------
JOSH – from Labrador, also spoke to me about the Expedition experience – “The travel is worth the trip” … for sure. The trip as a whole was the highlight. To experience so much first hand. Thank goodness for photos – so we will be able to better share our experience with family and friends upon our return. Meeting so many people from all over the world, sharing cultural differences with people from places I never thought I would. Hello to family – I’m almost home .. staying in TO tonight – then back to Labrador tomorrow.
---------------------
Bill Lishman --- “If I were to say the trip was awesome (the most overused adjective of the trip), I would be hassled” ---!!! But it was awesome.
Truly – it was absolutely astounding. The VISUALS – of the ice, snow, glaciers --- wonderful sculptural creations.
The feeling of being surrounded by such beauty at the very end of the earth – is almost overwhelming really.
It was absolutely wonderful. An incredible way to begin a new year. The drama of the Orca teaching/hunting and the saving of the Russian ship were among the most profound highlights.

Webmaster note --- the incredible events surrounding the earthquake and tsunami were just being discovered by the SOI group. Without full access to communications/media - the breadth of this natural disaster and its profound impacts will be part of the sensitive re-entry experience the SOI group will have. Perhaps a reminder might be in order - that they have had less time than we to know about this human tragedy unfolding, and that it will undoubtedly be challenging for them to juxtapose it to the equally profound and positive experience of nature they are absorbing.
Lastly - please return to the site again in a few days - as we will continue to provide UPDATES, additonal journals, loads more photos and media follow-up!!
Thanks for ‘following the Journey” with us.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
