The following credit course is offered through the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University and in conjunction with the 2014 Antarctic Expedition:
Geography 4100: Introduction to Remote Sensing
This course will provide an introduction to remote sensing technologies, examining data collection and processing methodologies. It will review the principles of data processing and the use of remote sensing in coastal zone and water quality problems.
Course Aims:
  1. To introduce participants to the Remote Sensing Technologies currently utilized in coastal and marine areas.
  2. To review the principles and application of airborne systems, space platforms, radar and acoustic systems.
  3. To effectively use remote sensing technologies for monitoring and managing the coastal zones, terrestrial water problems.
