New programs that benefit the Polar Regions, such as the Foundation’s Arctic Youth and Partnerships Program, which focuses on increasing the benefits of the Foundations work for Arctic youth and their communities. A program currently under development is the SOI Alumni Program, which will significantly enhance the support for Alumni from SOI’s programs.

New projects that raise awareness of the importance of the Polar Regions, contribute to sustainable development or enhance environmental protection in the Polar Regions.

Examples of projects recently supported by the SOI Foundation are:

  • SOI at IUCN World Conservation Congress: a team of staff and expedition alumni engaged in meaningful conversation, led Polar themed workshops, and heard from world leaders with a goal of conserving the environment and working with nature to solve global challenges.
