Camille Slack

Education Intern

Camille Slack

Camille was a student participant on the 2011 Antarctic expedition and was thrilled to returned to the SOI team for both the 2016 and 2017 expeditions as the Expedition Intern and then Assistant. Having recently completed her Bachelor of Education from Queens University with a focus on Experiential Outdoor Education, Camille adores teaching and learning in the outdoors and aspires to one day have a career in the outdoor education field. Her passion for environmental issues, community-based learning and cross-cultural connections makes Students on Ice the perfect fit for the summer!

Camille loves to travel and learn about diverse cultures. Having participated in a semester-long cultural exchange program in Trinidad and Tobago, a 4-month AuPair program in Italy and recently a final outdoor education teaching placement in Oahu, Hawaii, she is eager to explore new corners of our beautiful world as well as expand her knowledge of the places she has already visited. Her undergraduate degree in Global Development has instilled in her a deep appreciation for different cultures and the international opportunities and connections our world offers to us.

Outside of the office Camille loves yoga, going camping and hiking, investigating new vegetarian cuisine and exploring Ottawa!
