He was an Emergency Room physician prior to becoming a radiation oncologist. In his current work he treats patients from eastern Ontario and Baffin Island. He is personally aware of how experiences in our youth can shape life-long interests, crediting a high school sailing expedition with stimulating a continuing love of the oceans, marine biology and sailing. Gad has travelled extensively, and speaks five languages.
